Roger Varian is a Classic-winning racehorse trainer with international success. Ranked in the top five of the Flat Trainers Championship, Roger had yet another incredible season in 2022, headlined by Royal Ascot hero and St Leger Champion ELDAR ELDAROV and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes winner BAYSIDE BOY.
Earning £3.5 million in prize-money last year, Roger brought his total to over £12 million and reached 21 career Group 1 victories across six countries. He also set a new record with seven wins in one afternoon across the cards.
Roger made an immediate impact on the profession claiming Group 1 success in his first season when Nahrain won the Prix de l'Opera in 2011. Since then he has shown remarkable consistency amassing over 1000 winners and has registered Group 1 victories every season he has trained bar two.
Roger is probably best known for the success of his globe-trotting superstar Postponed who recorded three Group 1 victories during a memorable campaign, which saw him crowned Timeform Champion Older Horse in 2016 and finish his career on an official rating of 124.
