Purchased from Tattersalls Ireland - The sale that produced CLAYMORE and BALLYMOUNT BOY

This regal looking filly was extremely impressive in the breeze, quickening continually to land an excellent time in an eye-catching manner. She had a quick stride and travelled effortlessly to land 30th of 250 breezers, and we were delighted to be able to secure her as our first progeny of world-class stallion KINGMAN. Fillies born by this sire are renowned for being top-class, and he recently transcended that form yet again by adding a Classic winner to his leading roster with 1000 Guineas winner ELMALKA for Roger Varian.

Physically she is strong, speedy and looks ready to hit the track this summer over 7-8f, but will be a top class middle distance type with time. As such she was at the top of many buyers’ lists and we fought hard to secure her as the 15th highest lot of the sale, in what was a record breaking auction for Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up. She was originally purchased by her consignors from Tattersalls Book 1, the leading European yearling sale, and is eligible for a Book 1 Bonus - meaning she is awarded an extra £25,000 in bonus money for winning a Class 2, 3 or 4 Novice or Maiden this season.

“This filly progressed very nicely through her breeze, ending up 40th in the gallop out and 30th overall. She was really consistent and tried all the way to the line, continuing out around the bend, and I thought it was a really taking breeze. In terms of her physical, she moved very well with an easy action and was very correct. What was also very exciting was the pedigree with KINGMAN over GALILEO, which has been an amazing cross with 15 Stakes performers and 9 Stakes winners. Pedigree

One of the most appealing aspects of this filly is that she is from a KINGMAN-GALILEO cross, which has had exceptional success in producing Stakes horses. Indeed this coupling has generated no less than 15 Stakes Performers, 9 Stakes winners and 4 Group winners, including the unbeaten Group 1 victor COMMISSIONING and American multiple Stakes winning SERVE THE KING. This cross goes even further, having an outstanding 64% winner to runner ratio.

Furthermore, she descends from a blue ribbon family as the daughter of ASANTA SANA, the own sister to Group and Listed winner PRETTY PERFECT and herself the daughter of MILANOVA, who was runner up twice at Group 1 level and won over £90,000 across her three wins. MILANOVA is the full-sister to HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR, who needs no introduction as French Champion 2yo in 2006 and winner of the Group 1 Grand Criterium, Group 1 Phoenix Stakes and Group 2 Railway Stakes. This formidable family stems from L’ON VITE, a distinguished broodmare and dam to seven winners from 10 runners, four of which were black-type. Overall, our filly’s pedigree and ability combined make her a serious breeding prospect once she has gained some black-type of her own, and she looks as though she will have an extremely exciting future with the Opulence team.
