The July Sale has been of particular interest to us this year with the offering of Lot 41 - LIBERTY BREEZE, the half-sister to our very own 105-rated PUROSANGUE and a three-time winner in her own right. Sold in foal to ACLAIM, her first colt or filly will be a three parts in blood relative of PUROSANGUE - a cross that is already a proven match with this family and the sire. With this speed on speed cross of ACLAIM and an EQUIANO mare, you can expect the progeny to get results quickly, hitting the track as an early two-year-old over 5-6f.

We were thrilled to secure LIBERTY BREEZE on the first day of the sale for exceptional value at only 46,000 GNS as an addition to our growing broodmare band, where she joins Group 3 winner MARBLING and Listed winning SOMETHING ENTICING at the picturesque Galloway Stud in Woburn. Her foal will be born in February of 2025, and could be a lucrative sales prospect with potential at the yearling or breeze up sales, the latter being particularly successful for progeny of ACLAIM, or alternatively can be retained to add to our own racing stock as a two-year-old.

Tattersalls Purchase Update

Opulence Thoroughbreds goes to 46,000gns for Liberty Breeze, a six-year-old three-time-winning daughter of Equiano, sold in-foal to Aclaim on a March 28 service date. The syndicate's director, George Gill, said: "We know this family very well as we own her half-brother Purosangue, who was second in the Coral Charge at Sandown on Saturday, and Teme Valley Racing, our partner in him, also owns the other half-brother Tropical Storm who was second at Royal Ascot in the Norfolk Stakes." He added: "We are looking to expand our broodmare band, she is in-foal to Aclaim, who is the sire of Purosangue, and she will go to Galloway Stud at Woburn from here. She has a good family and good updates and she is an exciting prospect."

"We currently have two foals on the ground by New Bay and Lope De Vega and have changed our strategy a little bit to buy fillies with residual value. Obviously in our game it is all about keeping your money alive for the long term, and we are focused on fillies with a good page – even if they are moderate racehorses they still have value."

Pedigree

LIBERTY BREEZE descends from a fantastic family as the winning daughter to AVON BREEZE. Rated 92, AVON BREEZE was no stranger to the winners enclosure, claiming 10 wins and a further 15 places during her career. She won more than £100,000 whilst racing, and is now continuing to impress as a broodmare, having produced our own Listed-winning PUROSANGUE and 101-rated TROPICAL STORM, who took a close second in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot last month. This is no surprise when you look at her own dam, who is half-sister to Listed winners TABARET and SAIGON and dam to seven winners herself.

EQUIANO's two-time victory in the Group 1 King's Stand Stakes (now known as the King Charles III) tells you everything you need to know about the speedy son of ACCLAMATION. A winner at two, he progressed on as a top class sprinter from three to five before being retired to stud, where he has produced 33 Stakes winners to date including THE TIN MAN - the beloved three-time Group 1-winning gelding trained by James Fanshawe.
