Purchased from the July Sale - Europe’s Premier Midsummer Sale which saw record breaking turnover of almost 17,000,000 guineas across four days.

 

MUBHIJAH is an impeccably bred filly originating from the ranks of Shadwell’s top breeding operation, who have produced the likes of Cartier Horse of the Year, BAAEED, and multiple Group 1 winner, BATAASH. 

Originally trained by Roger Varian in Newmarket, she has shown plenty of ability on the track, having placed seven times from her nine races, and Roger himself highlighted her as “a winner in waiting”. Now under our ownership, she will go into training with Ed Walker at Kingsdown Stables, situated in much quieter surroundings in Lambourn. We are confident that a change in environment is just what she needs, and the yard’s fantastic facilities and Ed’s excellent record with fillies should bring about plenty of improvement in her.

She has an excellent pedigree, by sire of Champions, SHAMARDAL, and out of the same family as the Oaks-winning TAGHROODA, an exceptional filly that also went on to win the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. With a page like hers, she has fantastic prospects as a broodmare for us in the future, but we are in no doubt that she has a few wins in her first, and as a 50% Great British Bonus eligible filly, she is entitled to an additional £10,000 when she wins a GBB race! 

She is still race fit and will be ready to run again as soon as she has settled into her new home, so offers the perfect opportunity to anyone who wants to get to the track this season.
