An impressive, rangy filly with an eye-catching step to her, RED DANIELLE was simply beguiling in the parade ring at Tattersalls December Mares Sale last year and we were willing to go to our highest ever bid of 300,000 GNS to secure her.
By German Guineas winner SEA THE MOON and out of a daughter of GALILEO, we were delighted to add the impeccably bred filly to our ranks. She has the form to back her smart pedigree up, placing second in the Listed Prix Solitude at Saint-Cloud on her last start and gaining an official rating of 92. Her win at Yarmouth last summer was certainly decisive, taking the victory by an easy 11 lengths, and she placed herself firmly amongst some of the smartest fillies in the season when taking second by half a length to Group-performing SWEET MEMORIES in the competitive Darley Fillies' Novice Stakes, and beating MAMAN JOON, who took fourth in the Oaks a month prior.
She is a quality filly with an exciting season ahead of her, with our sights set on the Group 3 Brontë Cup Fillies' Stakes at York in May to get her campaign off the ground.
Pedigree
Her sire, SEA THE MOON, has been somewhat underrated after a steady start to his stud career. His third crop, however, suggested that he had plenty more to come, taking third place in the leader board for black-type winners, and he has now acquired a total of 54 Stakes performers in all.
A German horse, he was magnificent on the track, winning all of his starts bar his last, after which he was retired to stud due to injury. His own breeding is impeccable as the son of SEA THE STARS and out of the full-sister to three Classic winners from one of the top families in Germany.
RED DANIELLE’S dam, GARABELLE, is a daughter of GALILEO and producer of four winners from six runners, including Stakes placed BELLA VITA. There is no end to the scores of black-type performers stemming from this family, with extraordinary third dam BELLA COLORA at pride of place, a multiple Group-winning mare herself and producer of countless top performers and broodmares. Seven of her 11 runners were winners, including Champion older horse in Europe, STAGECRAFT, a sire in his own right; exceptional broodmare BALALAIKA, producer of multiple Group winners and a sire of her own in ALKAADHEM.
