This lovely daughter of HAVANA GREY is the first to make up our string of two year olds for the 2025 season, and her quality certainly sets the standard for the year.
A strong filly with an excellent action and a fabulous temperament, she will be an early type, looking likely to start over 6f in Spring next year with more than enough scope to progress over further at three. Her superb pedigree is littered with Stakes winners and she is the half-sister to four winners from six runners, bestowing her with every chance of becoming a classy filly on the track.
We are keen to increase our string with promising young trainer Jack Channon, who kicked off his training career last season in outstanding fashion and has had ever increasing success this summer, and she will go into training with him at West Ilsley Stables in Berkshire. Jack has accumulated almost £2 million in prize money over the past two seasons and has nearly 100 wins under his belt, including three Stakes victories and the Golden Mile Heritage Handicap, in which he soared to victory with JOHAN within months of securing his licence.
Pedigree
Our filly is out of the winning French mare SHIBA, daughter of RAIL LINK - Champion European Three-year-old in 2006, winner of the Arc and four-time Group winning sire. SHIBA descends from fantastic stock and this shows in her own progeny, with four winners from her six runners so far. Her own dam was SYMBA’S DREAM, Listed performer and dam to six winners, three of which are Stakes performers in their own right. A family that has produced excellent broodmares down the line, she holds good potential as a future addition to our breeding syndicate - something that we kept in mind when selecting her.
The sire of our colt, HAVANA GREY, needs little introduction as the leading first and second season stallion in 2022 and 2023. He has sired an incredible 20 Stakes winners and a further 30 Stakes performers to date, including 11 Group winners. A classy two-year-old himself, he won three Stakes races before taking a close second in the Group 1 Prix Morny and then again in the Group 2 Flying Childers at Doncaster. At three he got his Group 1 victory in the Flying Five Stakes in what was a thrilling battle against SON OF REST and SIOUX NATION. He has already produced a son that out-ranks him on form, with the undefeated two-year-old VANDEEK, who last year took multiple Group 1 victories in the Prix Morny and Middle Park Stakes, and holds an outstanding 63% winners to runners ratio.
