Bought from Book 1 at Tattersalls - the sale that brought us NOBLE STYLE and LUXEMBOURG!
Eligible for the £20,000 Book 1 Bonus AND the £20,000 Great British Bonus
Buying from Tattersalls’ Book 1 Sale this year was incredibly difficult amidst an incredibly strong market which reached record breaking figures and yielded a top lot of £4.4 million. It was therefore with extremely good fortune that we were able to secure a filly of such high calibre as the daughter of multiple Group performing mare FIXETTE and by five-time Group 1 winning PALACE PIER.
She is a superb model that radiates class, bred to win at two from the KODIAC line on her damside and progress on again at three like her World Champion Miler sire. A speedy type with an exceptional action, she ticked all of the boxes for us on physical, action, pedigree and attitude. She looks very much a type to get started with next summer, and she is eligible for a number of bonuses next year which will see her take home the £25,000 Book 1 Bonus for her first Maiden or Novice victory at two years old, and an extra £20,000 for every eligible Great British Bonus race that she may win.
“I think this filly is a real athlete. I think she was extremely good value from this sale, particularly for fillies which have been very difficult to buy in this market. She is from a really speedy two-year-old family and by exciting first season sire PALACE PIER, who was Champion Three-year-old and an exceptional racehorse by KINGMAN. I’m really looking forward to seeing his stock on the racecourse, I really like his yearlings and this is the second filly by him that I have in the yard.” - Ed Walker
Pedigree
Sprinting French filly FIXETTE won her Maiden on debut and placed a further five times from only seven starts. An exceptionally consistent filly, she came extremely close in Group and Listed company on four occasions in France to secure an impressive TimeForm rating of 100. Proven on the track, she has gone on to do the same as a broodmare too with two winners from three runners, including Listed-winning sprinter THE FIXER.
World Champion Miler PALACE PIER was a remarkable racehorse and looks every bit as though he will reproduce his success as a stallion, being a son of KINGMAN: one of the leading sires of the moment and sire to two Classic winners just this season. New to the Darley Stallion ranks, PALACE PIER was assigned a whopping nomination fee of £55,000 for his first year at stud - the same fee that KINGMAN stood at in his first year and a significant indicator of his connections’ opinion of him. Rated the best horse in the world after his Group 1 Lockinge and Group 1 Queen Anne victories, he has every reason to hold such high expectations, and his progeny certainly look the part.
