The team at Opulence had a fantastic evening yesterday with each of our three runners claiming a spot in the winners’ enclosure.

LIR SPECIALE was the star of the show with a stand-out performance in the 7:00 Unibet Handicap over 7f, bringing his total prize money to £48,000 in one year! He took the victory with ease, finishing almost two lengths ahead of MITROSONFIRE and more than four lengths in front of the rest. LIR SPECIALE is a progressive colt by PRINCE OF LIR, bought from the Goffs Breeze Up sale for 65,000 GNS from Knockanglass Stables.

FORD MADOX BROWN later challenged DOUBLE TIME, narrowly missing by half a length to take second place, whilst MANETTINO battled valiantly in the last race of the evening to secure a third.

LIR SPECIALE (IRE) resumed winning ways in uncomplicated fashion, improving further for the 1f longer trip and by no means fully extended at the line, well worth remaining positive about; prominent, headway to lead over 1f out, kept going well; will remain of plenty of interest.


A useful handicap, the winner much more progressive than most and always well placed, the third catching the eye on reappearance; the pace was even.
