ARCTIC THUNDER accelerates to victory!

ARCTIC THUNDER came out on top in a thrilling finish in yesterday’s 7f Maiden Stakes at Kempton, giving his owners a rollercoaster run from the off under the guidance of David Probert. Upped in trip, he ran green from a tricky position in behind before finding room in the straight. The son of NIGHT OF THUNDER kicked with spectacular acceleration to snatch the victory on the line, beating evens favourite ALJEZUR and the smart looking COLOUR CODE running under the Clive Cox banner.  

He is certainly an exciting prospect for his owners and will step up in trip on the turf for the Andrew Balding team this season. We loved this colt at Tattersalls Book 1 Sale, with his superb action and scope putting him at the top of our list, and were delighted to secure him for 110,000 GNS from Pier House Stud. Descending from Group 1 winner PIPALONG, he is out of the proven dam AL KIRANA, who has now produced three winners from three runners.

Upped in trip, is getting the hang of things and showed improved form to get off the mark second time out, needing every yard of the trip; slowly into stride, mid-field, effort early in straight, headway over 1f out, led post; will go on improving.
