BEVERAGINO breaks her maiden
After a number of close encounters BEVERAGINO broke her Maiden at Wolverhampton this week in the 7f Restricted Maiden Stakes. It seems that the Michael Bell team have found the key to her with the application of cheekpieces, as she was proving unwilling to go past horses in her races.
She has long been a horse that we have liked and look forward to more success with her. In fact, we liked her so much that we purchased her full-brother last October in the yearling sales, who we look forward to seeing on the track this year. The pair are by SOLDIER’S CALL, who had a tremendous first season as a stallion that earned himself third place on the leaderboard for European stallions, and out of WARM WELCOME, dam to nine-time winner DANIELSFLYER.
She made things look simple today, taking the victory by a length and a half, and has the potential to stay further in future.

BEVERAGINO (IRE) in first-time cheekpieces, got off the mark, little or no progressed needed in all likelihood; chased leader, effort on inner early in straight, led final 1f, ridden out.
Just a fair maiden and the standard-setter justified favouritism at the chief expense of a green newcomer, her main market rival fading late having set a steadyish pace.
