ISLAY OF ANGLESEY (IRE) strong in the betting for turf debut, showed improved form to get off the mark tackling handicap company for the first time, the step up to 1m suiting as expected and likely to progress further, too, no surprise if connections find him an opportunity under a penalty given how far clear the first 2 finished clear; patiently ridden, headway 3f out, went on under 2f out, stayed on well; he'll have no trouble staying beyond 1m.

This was dominated by a couple of handicap debutants, plenty others not showing their form but the pair clearly improving a chunk as they asserted over 1f out.
