LIR SPECIALE (IRE) had some strong novice form on all-weather in the spring and got back on the up after 4 months off having undergone a breathing operation since his handicap debut at Newmarket; chased leaders, pushed along over 2f out, challenged over 1f out, edged ahead close home; as a lightly-raced/unexposed 3-y-o, further progress couldn't be ruled out.


The first 4 pulled clear but this appeals as just a run-of-the-mill handicap, though the winner is unexposed and should still have his best days in front of him.
