Melanie’s Joy Places On Racecourse Debut
Melanie’s Joy backed up the promise he has been showing at home having finished a close third to market leaders Lattash and Leadman in the Rita Haggar Novice Stakes at Southwell over the weekend.
Breaking from the stalls in smart fashion, Melanie’s Joy remained prominent during the early stages of the race, and despite showing inexperience during the closing stages of the race, showed an impressive turn of foot and battled gamely to finish within 2 lengths of the market principles.
The remainder of the field finished a long way behind the leading trio which is indicative of Melanie’s Joy’s potential. He will have no doubt learnt a lot from his first experience at the racecourse and he looks a very smart and exciting prospect for the remainder of the season.
We are pleased to say he has come out of the race sound and well and he looks like a horse that is capable of winning a novice race. We will be in touch in due course with potential entries.
