MUBHIJAH made light work of her stable debut for the Ed Walker team today with a hugely impressive performance in Carlisle’s 7f Oughterby Maiden Stakes. Making the running, she showed real grit on less than ideal ground to score by 6 lengths, breaking her maiden on her first outing for us and securing an extra £5000 Great British Bonus which brought her prize money to just under £10,000. 

An impeccably bred Shadwell filly purchased at the July Horses in Training Sale at Tattersalls for £80,000, we felt that she had plenty of untapped potential, having placed second in five of her nine starts with Roger Varian, as well as taking third behind 102-rated DREAM OF LOVE. It is a real testament to the team at Kingsdown Stables to have turned her around so swiftly and we look forward to an exciting future with her as a filly with black-type potential!

MUBHIJAH hasn't really done a lot wrong despite finishing second 5 times prior to this and she didn't need to improve to get off the mark in convincing fashion on first outing since leaving Roger Varian (sold 80,000 gns) after 10 weeks off; led, pushed along under 3f out, drew clear inside final 1f.
