Opulence Thoroughbreds in Dubai

We are delighted to announce that we are expanding our reach at Opulence Thoroughbreds with a brand new Dubai-based syndicate!

Dubai’s horse racing industry has emerged as one of the wealthiest sectors in global racing, with over £30 million in prize money on offer. The Dubai racing calendar starts at the end of the UK’s flat season, 8th November 2024, and culminates in the prestigious Dubai World Cup meeting in April 2025, held annually at Meydan Racecourse and featuring a staggering $30.5 million in total prize money, with the feature race offering a purse of $12 million

Capital earned from horse racing activity is tax free, and with over £100 million in prize money on offer for fixtures this year, it offers an excellent opportunity to enjoy all of the benefits that Dubai has to offer.

If you have a hunger for top-level contests, Dubai is the place for you

Meydan racecourse - a $2.7 billion project - serves as a luxurious hub for the sport, complete with a hotel and restaurants. As a syndicate member, not only will you be a part of the winning circle, but you'll also indulge in two luxurious holiday packages to enjoy the racing and visit your horse at the stables, perfect for experiencing Dubai's opulent lifestyle.

There is no better trainer to partner with than two-time Champion Bhupat Seemar, trainer of Dubai World Cup winner LAUREL RIVER - the highest-rated horse in the world according to the LONGINES World's Best Racehorse Rankings. Since gaining his training licence in 2021, Bhupat has saddled no fewer than 20 Stakes winners, including three Group 1’s - an extraordinary feat in such a short timespan.

Our horses head to his new yard, Green Stables, situated right at the heart of Meydan racetrack and equipped with top class facilities.

Who better to have at the helm of our syndicate launch than two-time Champion trainer, Bhupat Seemar, who, since gaining his training license in 2021, has saddled no fewer than 20 Stakes winners - an extraordinary feat in such a short timespan. He set the tone of his career in his very first season in securing a much coveted Group 1 triumph with SWITZERLAND in the Dubai Golden Shaheen, which earned his team just under £900,000 in prize money. His top performance to date, however, was his emphatic victory in the Group 1 Dubai World Cup last March with LAUREL RIVER, where he secured an incredible £5.5 million for his owners for the win.

ARAGON CASTLE - 4yo chesnut gelding

This three-time winning TERRITORIES gelding has proven himself both at two and three years old, and looks to have plenty more to give off a rating of 96. An extremely consistent horse, he thrives on running, with his Racing Post Ratings improving markedly throughout his career, and he landed his best performance to date last time out in a valuable handicap at Ayr.

With rock solid form across the past two seasons that improves with running, he has proven extremely talented and durable in the UK and has all the makings of a top tier horse in the UAE. His exceptional turn of foot will be a potent asset at Meydan and he has the potential to run over further as the son of a SEA THE STARS mare.

His sire, the Group 1 Prix Jean Prat winning TERRITORIES, is renowned for producing horses that progress with time, typically reaching their peak aged four and upwards. The Edward Bethall-trained REGIONAL is one such example, securing similar ratings to ARAGON CASTLE before going on to secure his first Group 1 victory aged four in the Sprint Cup Stakes at Haydock and following this up with second place in the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes at five.

ARAGON CASTLE is a horse we expect to see running over a mile or further on the turf, with the potential to reach the Stakes level this year. His form is indicative of untapped potential to come and we feel there is no one better to see this out than two-time Champion Trainer Bhupat Seemar.
