Shanko wins first time out!

An excellent result for Shanko, winning first time out, at Chelmsford City on Monday 13th December.

SHANKO (£50,000Y: by Oasis Dream: brother to smart winner up to 7f Naadirr and closely related to 3 winners, including useful 2-y-o 5f/6f winner Beach Belle (by Invincible Spirit) and 1¼m winner Zahratty (by Muhaarar): dam 1m-1¼m winner who stayed easy 1½m) chased leader, pushed along approaching home turn, led under 2f out, wandered from early in straight, kept up to work.

The 2 fillies with the best pre-race form filled the places, which gives substance to the form shown by Shanko in making a winning debut, even if he did get first run on the second.
